A HOLISTIC ENGINEERING APPROACH FOR AERONAUTICAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

In this paper, the challenges and advantages in concept selection based on various matrices (e.g. TRL levels, compatibility matrices) are explained. These procedures make possible a holistic design space analysis taking into account all information from the system topology, technology assessments, compatibility matrices and other information sources. This paper highlights also alternative approaches and parallels to (DSMs and the integration of simulation models for concept evaluation.
