VISCOUS FLUID SIMULATION WITH THE VORTEX ELEMENT METHOD

This paper introduces several approaches to the simulation of incompressible viscous fluid with the vortex element method (VEM). VEM is an effective tool for high-Re flow simulation (cruising flight of subsonic aircrafts, aeroelasticity, VIV). The considered approaches extend the use of VEM to the problems, where viscosity of the flow cannot be neglected.
