In this paper, multi-disciplinary design optimization (MDO) within the AGILE European project(Aircraft 3rd Generation MDO for Innovative Collaboration of Heterogeneous Teams of Experts) is applied to two turboprop aircrafts. The first configuration is a classical architecture (wing mounted engines) and the second one is an innovative architecture characterized by rear engines installation on the horizontal tail tip with an innovative propulsion system. The top Level Aircraft Requirements (TLARs) for both configurations have been provided by Leonardo Company. To carry out this task, the following steps must be executed:rn(i) initialization; (ii)multi-disciplinary design analyses; (iii)surrogates creation; (iv)multi-disciplinary design optimization. rn
