TIME-RESOLVED PRESSURE MEASUREMENTS FOR AN AIRFOIL WITH SELF-SUSTAINED SHOCK OSCILATIONS

H.F. Leiteš, R.G.A. da Silvaš, A.C. Avelar, IAE, Brazil; šITA, Brazil

In order to understand the mechanisms behind buffeting onset, the pressure distributions over a NACA 0012 airfoil were measured using two types of fast-response pressure-sensitive paints. The airfoil was submitted to flow near and at buffeting conditions, as well as accelerated flow. Pressure fields were analyzed using POD, pressure time-series standard deviation and spectral power density.
