MULTI-DISCIPLINARY DESIGN OPTIMIZATION OF A BLENDED WINGLET

To reduce DOC linked to the fuel cost, it is proposed the development of a Winglet optimized for a regional aircraft of up to 12 passengers. A Vortex Lattice Method code with the Trefftz-Plane for counting induced drag. Comparisons without/with the winglet covered several areas: aerodynamics, loads and performance. Results showed that performance was improved and reduction of 12% in fuel burn
