Forward-swept wing (FSW) layout is a favorable concept for NLF wing design. A comparison study on transition characteristics of FSW and aft-swept wing (ASW) is carried out. A dual eN method based on LST (linear stability theory) for the prediction of transition induced by TS waves and CF instability is coupled with a three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) solver. In this paper it is found that, FSW layout has an advantage in the realization of NLF supercritical wing design than ASW.
