VALIDATION OF INTERMITTENCY MODEL FOR TRANSITION PREDICTION IN A RANS FLOW SOLVER

This work deals with the implementation of transition model in a in-house RANS flow solver. The capability of predicting transition was verified on a ZPG flat plate and S809 airfoil. The results were satisfactory and tests on 3D cases are in progress. The availabilty of a RANS code able to correctly compute the laminar to turbulent transition process is of great relevance for more reliable designs
