WIND SHEAR PARAMETER ESTIMATION FOR DYNAMIC SOARING WITH UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES

The paper proposes a new method based on augmented Particle Filter to estimate the unknown parameters in the wind field during dynamic soaring with UAVs. The results show that the proposed method can estimate the wind field more accurately, reliably and robustly than that of Extended Kalman Filter.
