REPLICA 55 PROJECT: A WOOD SEAPLANE IN THE ERA OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS

In 2015 a group of Italy based volunteers joined and started the Replica55 Project (www.replica55.it) with the aim to design, build and fly a replica of S55 aircraft. While largely based on original drawings, the design needs to be modernized for safety reason and to allow easy use of numeric wood cutting tools. Several University Professors and designers offered their help, allowing students to be involved in such a project.
