A METHODOLOGY FOR PRELIMINARY SIZING OF A THERMAL AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR A HYPERSONIC VEHICLE

This paper suggests a methodology for the preliminary vehicle’s mass, volume and power budgets, for specific hypersonic vehicle subsystems with a high level of complexity and integration. In detail, the case of the Vehicle Energy Management System (a concept integrating Thermal Protection and Control with Propulsion, Propellant, Environmental Control and Electrical subsystems) is investigated.
