VERTICAL LANDING OF A FIXED-WING UAV USING THE FLAT SPIN

This paper proposes a novel vertical landing method using the flat spin of a fixed-wing UAV. It was demonstrated by flight experiments using an all-flying tail and full throttle of a propulsion motor that the pitch attitude and descent rate during the spin is controlled suitable for safe landing.
