SHM QUALIFICATION PROCESS AND THE FUTURE OF AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) has the potential to revolutionize aircraft maintenance. Two SHM technologies were selected by Embraer for more in-depth study. In an effort to move Scheduled-SHM into routine use for aircraft maintenance, a project was developed for the qualification of SHM and to validate the performance of such systems in operational environment.
