PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF VISCOUS FULL-POTENTIAL CFD CODES

D. Philpottš, K. Hackettš; šIHS Markit (ESDU), United Kingdom

Viscous full-potential methods are self-gridding and fast to run on a standard PC. Three applications are described, together with limitations and future developments. These applications relate to initial design optimisation, (to provide a better starting point for final RANS optimization), excrescence drag estimation and wind-tunnel extrapolation.
