A tensegrity is formed by pre-tensioned cables and rigid bodies in compression. These structures are highly efficient in terms of mass, easy to deploy (saving volume inside a satellite) and therefore relevant to aerospace and civil industries. This paper focuses on the dynamics and control of its expanding process, modal analysis and the importance of the pre-tension on the stiffness.
