LATTICE BOLTZMANN HIGH-LIFT SIMULATIONS - A STEP BEYOND CLASSICAL CFD

This work will demonstrate the improvements in numerical simulations of high-lift configurations that can be achieved if both the unsteadiness of the flow as well as the geometrical complexity of the models are fully accounted for. Conventional CFD tools rn (steady RANS) and their usage often neglect those aspects. A Lattice Boltzmann method will be presented as an alternative.
