AEROELASTIC PROPERTIES OF ACTIVE WINGLETS

The influence of active winglets on aerodynamic and aeroelastic characteristics of a high aspect ratio flexible wing was studied and the results of this research are presented. The possibility to decrease the wing structural weight while simultaneously increasing safety due to the implementation of Active Aeroelasticity concept is demonstrated.
