ELECTRIC VTOL UAV CONFIGURATION STUDIES AND OPTIMIZATION WITHIN AIRCRAFT DESIGN PRACTICAL COURSE AT TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH

The content of the paper describes the concept of the aircraft design practical course at TU Munich as well as the results of an example design task. The course is set up as a role play with the students being employees of a fictional design bureau. The task presented is the configuration comparison and optimization of vertical takeoff and landing UAV designed for the UAV Outback Challenge.
