GROUND AND FLIGHT TESTING OF A MULTI-SENSOR OBSTACLE DETECTION AND TRACKING SYSTEM FOR RPAS SITUATION AWARENESS

This work focuses on the testing of an obstacle detection and tracking system for RPAS. The system makes use of custom-built electro-optical and IR camera modules, and an ADS-B receiver. It is designed for a small UAV and was tested by a series of ground and flight tests involving manned and unmanned aircraft. The system provides collaborative and non-collaborative SAA and can improve UAV safety.
