Y.L. Zheng¹, Q.L. Qu¹, P.Q. Liu¹; ¹Beihang University, China

This paper studies the high lift mechanism of a 2D flapping dragonfly wing in hovering flight. We propose a new analytical method for the first time. The flow field is analyzed in detail to explain the cause of lift generation and the previous high lift mechanisms will be verified. Finally, typical vortex structures will be summarized at the moments when lift appears extreme values.
