FLIGHT DEMONSTRATION OF A LONG RANGE ONBOARD DOPPLER LIDAR

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency is developing an onboard turbulence accident prevention system. This system takes advantage of a coherent Doppler LIDAR as a remote airflow sensor. An evaluation of the maximum observation range of the Doppler LIDAR by flight experiments is explained.
