PREDICTING LOW-VELOCITY IMPACT DAMAGE IN COMPOSITE USING COHESIVE ELEMENT

H. Liu¹, S. Tan¹; ¹fai, China

The practical outcome of this research is a validated FE modelling approach that can be further improved for predicting low-velocity impact damage in both cross-ply laminates and quasi-static laminates. The friction between layers need to be considered to delay delamination and matrix cracks should be included in the model in order to simulate the delamination in adjacent interface.
