The objectives of this study are: to develop a methodology of manufacturing a laminated thick lug, get the values of failure load tests and correlate them with the results obtained in the numerical model proposed. In the experimental part, were made and the bearing tests in the lugs, simulating the boundary conditions and loading for the load of component failure. It has been established: the design and manufacture of the mold design and manufacturing of mechanisms for testing, the instrumentation of test specimens (lugs), the methodology of data acquisition and analysis of results obtained. In the numerical part in the first instance, held a simplified analysis of the specimen using finite elements, in order to define an optimal thickness to a value established by pre-loading envelope of aircraft loads. Subsequently, a series of numerical analysis was performed by simulating the initiation and propagation of cracks and, consequently, the structural failure of the component. rnThis work may contribute to the integration of manufacturing, design and structural analysis technologies, offering a reduction in development and application time, as well as a possible cost reduction of the complete product cycle.
