DEFORMATION MEASUREMENT IN THE WIND TUNNEL FOR AN UAV LEADING EDGE WITH A MORPHING MECHANISM

The structural behavior of an UAV leading edge is investigated in a wind tunnel test. A parallel measurement of pressure and optical surface scan is provided due to the measurements of the 2m half span wing. The results are compared with finite element simulation and the theoretical target shapes. The concept uses a compliant mechanism as kinematic and a skin out of glass fibre and rubber.
