VISUALIZATION OF AIRSPACE COMPLEXITY BASED ON AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL DIFFICULTY

A proposed objective Air Traffic Control Difficulty index develooped to support trajectory-based operations planning is applied to simulated aircraft trajectories based on fligth plan data to assess its applicability to realistic traffic situations. A heat map visualization is also developed to show "hot spot" areas of high traffic complexity.
