ACTIVE STRETCHER CONTROL DEVICE FOR IMPROVING MOUNTAIN S.A.R. HELICOPTER MISSIONS

The paper describes the design realization and flight testing of an actively controlled device for stabilizing Search And Rescue helicopter stretchers. The device was realized to suppress the rotation of the stretcher caused by helicopter downstream when loaded with an injured patient. Such a device consistently increases rescue operations safety.
