The Tailored Arrival concept is involving more flights at San Francisco International airport and provides the most beneficial flight path available with air traffic, airspace, meteorological, obstacle clearance and environmental constraints. Although challenges remain, systems and procedure improvements have demonstrated benefits that lead towards the next generation air traffic system.
