ANALYSIS OF LATERAL FLIGHT INEFFICIENCY IN GLOBAL AIR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

T. G. Reynolds
Univ. of Cambridge, UK

Keywords: LATERAL FLIGHT INEFFICIENCY, GLOBAL AIR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

Improving air traffic management system efficiency can reduce aviation’s environmental impacts. Flight data and modelling tools are used to quantify inefficiencies and hence the scope for environmental impact reduction in different regions of the world. An assessment of how these inefficiencies could change with future system evolution is also provided.
