For production aeroelastic analysis at transonic speed a CFD method based on small disturbance Navier-Stokes (NS) equations is an alternative to the Reynolds-averaged NS equations' time domain solution: It promises decreased cost while largely retaining the fidelity of the latter. We report research at TU Muenchen in small disturbance NS method.
