COMPUTATIONS FOR LAMINAR FLOW CONTROL IN SWEPT-WING BOUNDARY LAYERS

Studies predict that, for Re of 8 million and an appropriate pressure distribution, crossflow can be stabilized and laminar flow achieved by spanwise-periodic roughness elements. Sensitivity to element placement and height is studied, and optimum location for the control elements is at Branch I of the control wavelength.
