Multipoint, multidisciplinary optimizations probe sensitivities for balanced aircraft design. The optimization environment, CAD, meshing, RANS-simulation and the evaluation of objectives is presented. Genetic, evolutionary strategies, simplex methods were utilized. Adjoint sensitivity method demonstrates efficiency. The algorithms are compared for validity, effort, process complexity. The inclusion of structural analysis is described.
