Keywords: Atmospheric Reentry, Nonequilibrium Hypersonic Flow, Aerothermochemistry, Capsule-type Vehicle Aerodynamics, Thermal Shield Catalyticity

A detailed analysis is performed, for space vehicles to be used as Crew Transportation System/Crew Rescue Vehicle, to assess the effects of thermochemical models and wall catalyticity on vehicle aerodynamic and aerothermal performances, e.g. lift-to-drag ratio, trim angle, heat load, stagnation point heat flux, thermal protection materials.
