An experimental study of the pulsating evaporation/combustion of organic gellant-based-fuel droplets is presented. Experimental data is employed in a phenomenological mathematical model of a gel fuel spray diffusion flame. Computed results demonstrate the appearance of downstream hotspots in the thermal field and parameters responsible for their existence are identified.
