Experimental data are presented resulted from testing double cantilever beam and cruciform specimens. Tests resulted in the estimate of the following factors: initial notch length, material orthotropy, loading type, crack arrester thickness and biaxiality factor. The comparison is given of experiments and calculations based on linear fracture mechanics.
