This paper describes effect of fungal growth on aircraft materials and equipment, analyzes the various types of failure mechanisms. Indicate that structure design, materials selection, surface protection and laboratory test etc. should be utilized to restrain fungal growth. Anti-fungal materials, fungus resistant coatings and techniques in fungus test are listed.
