The development of a Multi-platform Integrated Development Aid System (MIDAS) to facilitate the task of implementing distributed simulations for aircraft design applications, is outlined. A series of benchmarking tests confirm the near linear scalability of computational performance attainable with MIDAS. The results of solving a simple computational fluid dynamics (CFD) problem in a distributed computing environment are included.
