This paper summarizes recent research programs being carried out by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) using its research helicopter MuPAL-e. Emphasis is on two major research fields; the measurement and evaluation of atmospheric turbulence, and research on noise abatement flight. Other topics such as GPS based navigation systems are also introduced.
