MSD SIMULATION IN LAP JOINTS USING A DBEM MODEL

The dual boundary element technique has been used in Monte Carlo simulations to study effects of scatter in prediction of MSD onset in riveted samples. It is found that assumptions about scatter have a major influence on ISP and SMP. Results are compared with MSD data from aircraft.
