FEM BASED BENDING ANALYSES OF STIFFENED COMPOSITE PANELS

Stiffened composite panels can be analyzed using FE software but it may be troublesome and time consuming. Therefore, a tool has been developed and implemented into the ESAComp software. The selected approach is based on the MITC4 shell and Timoshenko beam elements. Equivalent properties of the stiffener are calculated for the beam element and the beam is connected to the plate using rigid links.
