FLOW VISUALIZATION AND PIV MEASUREMENTS OF LAMINAR SEPARATION BUBBLE OSCILLATING AT LOW FREQUENCY ON AN AIRFOIL NEAR STALL

Laminar separation bubbles formed on NACA 0012 airfoil were investigated to clarify their quasi-periodic behavior near the onset of airfoil stall. Wavelet analysis was applied to the flow velocity fluctuation signals. Detailed flowfield during the flow oscillation were studied by smoke flow visualization and flowfield measurements using particle image velocimetry.
