Keywords: wind tunnel, two-dimensional testing, high lift, suction

Experimental studies evaluated the effectiveness of suction at the wind tunnel working section walls, around a wing model. The spanwise effect of the horseshoe vortex on the wing aerodynamic characteristics was evaluated and the suction area and intensity optimized. Results show that this technique minimizes the three-dimensionality of the flow in two-dimensional testing and evaluated the senisitivity of the results.
