Keywords: vulnerability, equivalent vulnerable area, redundancy

Based on mathematical expectation theory and "inclusion exclusion principle" of discrete mathematics, a method considering multiple vulnerable components has been deducted to calculate the equivalent vulnerable area of aircraft by only one threat hit, which may provide valuable advices on redundant components design in the aircraft conceptual design stage.
