The aeroacoustic noise generated by helicopter rotors in hover and forward flight was predicted using two time-domain methods, namely Kirchhoff method solving the general wave equation and the Farassat method solving the FW-H (Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings) equation applied to a permeable surface.
