Deformation behavior and the associated deformation microstructures of extruded NiAl polycrystals were investigated. Elongations over 200% and m near to 0.30 under high strain rate (10-1s-1) at high temperature were observed. Continuous dynamic recrystallization caused a steadily flow stress and a favorable value of m, resulting in high fracture resistance and large plastic elongation.
