Keywords: ground vortex, compressible flow, PIV

PIV and LDA results are presented from a scaled compressible ground vortex flow with a moving ground plane. Analysis shows the ground vortex position to fluctuate chaotically by rms distances of up to 4 nozzle diameters. Time averaged data suggested greatest sensitivity to vortex position with cross flow velocity.
