EXPLORATION OF THE AIRBUS "NAUTILIUS" ENGINE INTEGRATION CONCEPT

The Airbus “Nautilius” concept provides a solution for integrating high BPR engines and at the same time taking fully benefit of boundary-layer ingestion (BLI) for maximizing the aero-propulsive efficiency. This paper presents the results of a study conducted by ONERA on behalf of and in collaboration with Airbus to aerodynamically design and assess the performance of such configuration.
