Aircraft design is set to become evermore challenging in future, as development budgets shrink and time schedules of new projects are compressed. At the same time, the technical complexity of designing a new aircraft is increasing or remains at least as difficult as before. The answer to these challenges identified at Cassidian is to take advantage of Multidisciplinary Design Optimisation Methods in the conceptual and preliminary design phases.
