Unmanned aircraft systems become more important for scientific applications. Therefore, a new developed autopilot system and aircraft are presented. The increased requirements on endurance and operating ranges make a reconfiguration of the aerodynamic layout for an optimized efficiency necessary. Results of simulated configurations and validation flights are presented.
