FLOW-INDUCED FLUTTER OF SLENDER CANTILEVER HIGH-COMPLIANCE PLATES

Here, the fluid-induced flutter characteristics of slender cantilever high-compliance plates are studied. Theoretical scaling laws for flutter onset velocity and flutter frequency are compared to experimentally- and computationally-evaluated results. The change in flutter characteristics as a function of cantilever length and stiffness are determined and the outcomes are discussed.
