We consider the aerothermodynamics design of a capsule able to sustain the thermal environment of high-energy high-speed Earth reentry. The effect of the plasma radiation as well as the heatshield ablation are accounted for, in particular to determine the influence on the aerodynamics performance and stability along the reentry trajectory.
