This paper offers an overview of the Design and Engineering Engine (DEE), a software system to support conceptual and multidisciplinary design optimization of both conventional and novel aircraft configurations. The capabilities of two key DEE components, namely the Initiator and the new Multi Model Generator, are elaborated in more detail.
